PlexusAV’s Steven Cogels reveals how IPMX addresses the pro AV industry’s need for a common set of standards and protocols for IP infrastructures.
From broadcasters to Pro AV, it’s been a long journey for IPMX.

Offering support for multiple codecs, and a cheaper option than SMPTE ST 2110, IPMX is becoming more prevalent within the media industry. TVBEurope talks to PlexusAV’s Aaron Doughten and Steven Cogels to get the lowdown on the new standard.
The SMPTE ST 2110 standard was purpose-built to help migrate from SDI to IP and was designed to sustain performance at scale.
Steven Cogel talks about how PlexusAV is bringing a change to the world of AV over with IPMX and an open standards-based approach to technology.

BOTHELL, Wash. — June 12, 2023 — The Alliance for IP Media Solutions (AIMS) today announced its presentation schedule for InfoComm 2023, taking place June 14-16 in Orlando, Florida. Held in a minitheater in Booth 4181, the daily series of live, 15-minute presentations will be delivered by AIMS members and cover a variety of topics related to Internet Protocol Media Experience (IPMX™) — a set of open standard-based protocols designed to ensure interoperability for AV-over-IP systems in the media, entertainment, and Pro AV industries.
“AIMS is committed to utilizing prominent industry events as a platform for educating attendees about the immense potential of IP media solutions,” said Samuel Recine, chair of the Pro AV Working Group at AIMS. “With the stage set for IPMX to become the core of new IP infrastructure deployments throughout the Pro AV industry, it’s more important than ever for integrators, manufacturers, and other stakeholders to become familiar with the standards, and our booth at InfoComm 2023 offers them the perfect opportunity to do so.”
At InfoComm 2023, AIMS will be hosting eight different presentations — covering everything from an introduction to IPMX to gateways between IPMX and other media protocols — with each 15-minute session being offered multiple times throughout the event. The complete presentation list is below:
